Casa do Corpo Santo/ Baroque Museum
Decorating in Baroque tiles of the first third of seven hundred, do mestre P.M.P, XVIII century painted ceilings and gilded woodwork in the chapel. Bocage, the well known setubalense poet, born in 15 September 1765, in the neighborhood of S. Domingos, in the house that now bears his name.
The French Viscount Edmond Bartissol, name given later to the respective street, offered in 1888 the building to the City Council.
In the home, now a museum, there is a permanent exhibition on the poet and the age he lived in, as well as Archive Américo Ribeiro, as well as the Setubal photographic archive representative of the twentieth century. Municipal Gallery of the Old Bank of Portugal
Located on Avenida Luisa Todi, the property, dated the first half of the XX century, now houses 14 paintings of the altarpiece of the main chapel of the Church of Jesus, “a masterpiece” by one of the greatest Portuguese painters of the XVI century, Jorge Afonso, that has already been presented in several European cities, like Seville, at Expo 92. Highlights also a vast collection that includes paintings of the XV , XVI e XVII centuries, pieces of art sacra and archaeological findings, resulting from the excavation works of the historic city center and the Convent of Jesus. Jesus Convent Museum
About five dozen pieces of collections from the Setúbal Museum, with art from the late Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Baroque, in a chronological space-time script between the end of the fourteenth century and the twentieth century. Open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
